Yesterday I finished RunKeeper's "Running for Fat Loss" program! I like having a training program with a goal at the end. It keeps me on track! Since I don't own a scale, I don't know if I lost weight, but my jeans fit better.
Now, where do I go from here? I have a few running routes that are programmed into my app. A 4-mile, 5-mile, and a 7.5 mile, plus I can throw in some short fast runs and intervals.
Yesterday's run was also a little painful. The 5-minute warm-up walk was fine, then on the first :30 fast run, I felt pain in my lower back that ran down my right leg. It was gone when I walked the 2:30 interval, then felt it every time I ran again. My thoughts on this:
- drink more water
- pinched nerve, stretch more
- get new shoes (I needed new shoes about 2 months ago!)
- cut back on mileage and add more walking if necessary
In the meantime, I can concentrate on my new line of running jewelry that's coming soon!
