In a recent post, I talked about motivation. That was on July 1, and I had just started the Couch to 5k running program.
I'm happy to report 6 weeks later that I'm still at it! There was a 5-day break in there when I had a bad cramp in my calf from dehydration. But that is worked out and I feel good!
What keeps me going? I have NO MORE EXCUSES!
We kicked off the camping season with our annual trip to Interlochen State Park. The guys fished almost everyday, at least once a day. We feasted on bluegill three nights!
There's a mile-long hiking trail at the South Campground. While the guys were out fishing, I headed out to the trail to check it out. It was great to get out and jog/walk a bit. On one of my walk intervals, I heard the leaves crunching. It was a bit louder than the noise the birds make. I don't know if I was more stunned or the two deer were to see me so close!
Our dog, Chuck, came along! He loves going on trips, but at his age, the heat tires him out fast. He could barely keep his eyes open when I took this photo! The dirt offered the most relief, so he was also very dirty!
I've been wanting to start working with leather for about a year. When my husbands job was cut to 15 hours per week, it seemed the perfect opportunity to start this project. We started learning about leather, putting together kits, really getting into it, then track season came along he was busy coaching. Now that summer is here and the 15-hour per week school job is ZERO hours, we are ramping up production and will begin stocking our new Etsy shop in July.

And I've been making rings! Lightweight, adjustable rings. "To the MOON and BACK" has been a popular phrase. My new favorite is "She Believed She Could So She Did."
