First You Feel Like Dying. Then You Feel Reborn.

If this is true, I've been reborn.

Yesterday I ran for 60 minutes. I don't know if it's the cooler weather, or the work I've put into it, but the long runs are getting easier.

The long runs give me time to reflect. Rather than thinking about how much further I have to go, I think about how far I've come. Only a few months ago, it was a struggle to run for 30 minutes. I was working up to 30 minutes because that would be close to my 5k pace.

My current training plan is a combination of tempo runs, intervals, and long runs. I really look forward to the long runs. But without those other training days, they might not be so easy.

Friday evening I have the first 5k of this year! It's a trail run through an orchard and a small section of woods. Last year this run was in July and I had not yet completed my "Couch to 5k" training. (I only started running again last year!) It was tough! I walked and jogged it, finishing in 52 minutes. Hopefully I can beat that time!

Then Sunday, I have another 5k! I also ran this one last year and completed it in 32 minutes. I'm hoping to improve that time also!

I hope you have a great weekend. I'll be trying to stay hydrated!
